Something to Celebrate

Thank you for never being absent, despite the distance. LIFT is a community rooted in face-to-face interactions, hugs, high fives, and ridiculously fun parties (Trivia Night, anyone?). However, as the world continues to morph and shift, so has LIFT. We are taking some time to thoughtfully plan for the school year, identify how to best support our teens, as well as keep our students, volunteers, and staff healthy. Your support over the past four months has allowed us this grace period to prepare as best as we can for a very different year at LIFT. For that, we are forever grateful.

To say we need something to celebrate is an understatement. After missing the end of our teens’ school year and missing out on our annual end-of-school bash, we have decided to bid farewell to summer in a big (and safe) way. To kick off the new school year, we are planning a social-distance, back-to-school bash.  Where: the 'ice rink' across from the Friendship Center When: September 11th at 8:00 PM Why: To show our teens they have our support this school year!

We are committed to the health and safety of everybody in the LIFT family. That means that this school year will look very different. As proud partners of Suttons Bay Public Schools, we are following their lead. Much like the administration at SBPS, we are closely monitoring updates on the status of school this fall. In the meantime, we are preparing for multiple realities. We will be able to share more at our back-to-school bash and in another e-newsletter for those who will be celebrating with us from home. We do know that if we are able to host teens at LIFT in a safe way, that we will take every precaution necessary to do so. That being said, we have some new items on our Amazon wish list that will help make this transition possible. Please scroll through our wish list and consider donating one or more items to LIFT this fall.
